News:

Status Quo? Screens in cities across Canada. The documentary addresses the issue of women's rights in modern Canadian society by taking a hard look at three key concerns – violence against women, access to abortion and universal childcare.

Status Quo? uncovers provocative - at times shocking - revelations about the evolution of women's equality in Canada. Interweaving a wealth of dynamic archival material with startling contemporary stories, the film situates the vibrant Canadian women's movement in its history-making context. In 1967 the landmark Royal Commission on the Status of Women made recommendations to address the inequalities faced by women. The film celebrates the vibrant history of how feminism shaped the society we live in, but also questions just how far we’ve come. Status Quo? is crucial viewing for every Canadian, especially those unfamiliar with the vital achievements of the feminist movement.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the National Film Board of Canada will also stream the award-winning documentary free for three days from March 8 to 10 2013.

Family Secrets,
is an experimental docu-fiction that explores the notion of family secrecy and what "truths" lay hidden beneath old family photos and home movies. The film pieces together iconic imagery of "family life" with the imagined inner thoughts, confessions and journal entries of family members. The result is a revealing portrait of the inner-workings of family dynamics. Release is slated for fall 2010.
