Family Secrets recieves CALQ grant.
The Conseil des arts et des lettres Quebec (CALQ) has awarded Family Secrets a grand for production. Family Secrets, is an experimental documentary that will explore the notion of family secrecy and what "truths" lay hidden beneath old family photos and home movies. The film will piece together iconic imagery of "family life" with the imagined inner thoughts, confessions and journal entries of family members. The result will be a revealing portrait of the inner-workings of the family and its hidden truths. Production is slated for late 2009.

Karen Cho is continuing with Research/Development on Ten Thousand Roses. Inspired by Judy Rebick's book, The documentary film will look at the history and future of the women's movement in Canada and play-out as a road trip across the country to uncover the "soul" of Feminism. Ten Thousand Roses is a co-production between the National Film Board of Canada and Productions Virage.
